“Towards Sustainable Waste Disposal in Yangon” Project is one of our flagship initiatives aimed at addressing the growing waste management challenges in the city. With the support of the YSEALI program and the U.S. Embassy Yangon, this project focuses on promoting sustainable waste disposal practices among households and communities.
We aim to empower Yangon residents with the knowledge and tools to adopt effective waste segregation methods, reduce waste generation, and connect with local recycling points. Through a combination of surveys, training sessions, workshops, and community campaigns, the project is fostering a culture of responsibility and environmental stewardship.
Key activities include:
Conducting household waste management surveys to understand community needs.
Organizing workshops to educate and train volunteers and households on sustainable waste practices.
Mapping local junk shops and recycling points to bridge the gap between households and waste collectors.
Launching public awareness campaigns to encourage waste segregation and responsible disposal.
This project is a collective effort, bringing together households, volunteers, and community leaders to work towards a cleaner, greener Yangon. By addressing waste management at the grassroots level, we are building a foundation for sustainable urban living.
Join us in our journey to make Yangon a model for sustainable waste management!
